A project that aims to create an online community of people sharing their thoughts and views on issues affecting Cornwall has been launched.

Society Cornwall, which is the brainchild of Bodmin-based market research firm, PFA Research, was officially launched at the Royal Cornwall Show.

Over the next 12 months, the company aims to get 1,000 people signed up to the Society Cornwall panel.

With the leaflets and a website in place, PFA enlisted the support of Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF), Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) and Coodes Solicitors to promote the project at this year’s Show.

PFA managing director, Robert Rush, said: “We’re so grateful for the support the CCF, Air Ambulance and Coodes gave us at the Royal Cornwall Show.

“They all understand the benefits that Society Cornwall can give to organisations, charities and businesses, as well as the wider public of Cornwall, so it was great that they were able to help kick things off.

“The panel can also help community groups and charities to gain access to peoples’ opinions without having to find extra valuable financial resources.

“We feel it’s very important to get people joining so they can have their say on what is happening.

“This could be something that is affecting their neighbourhood, the town or the county as a whole.”

Once up and running PFA hope to run at least one survey a month.
