Despite current gloomy headlines about unemployment, regional accountant Bishop Fleming continues to expand.

The firm has appointed 12 new employees since the turn of the year, and is advertising vacancies for at least five more new posts.

Bishop Fleming is also poised to launch a call for new trainee accountants, spanning audit, accounts, and business recovery.

Recent appointments at Bishop Fleming include a new VAT director, a senior tax director, and a number of staff for the firm’s offices in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, and Truro.

Bishop Fleming has also made recent appointments for its specialist payroll and independent financial adviser operations.

In Cornwall, the firm is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of Truro office partner, Alison Oliver.

Oliver, staff partner in the Truro office, commented: “We must be one of the few businesses in the south west expanding our staff team. By taking on an additional 22 people, we are boosting our numbers to more than 200.

“We are also announcing promotions for 14 of our existing staff, underlining our determination to support and grow the career prospects of our people.”
