Local publisher, Tonick Media, has announced today that Aren Grimshaw, formerly of UKNetWeb, will be joining their team in a newly created role directing marketing on behalf of the company.

Tonick, which publishes local business magazine, Business Cornwall, has appointed Aren to develop the digital edition of the magazine as well as creating new service areas for the company.

Aren’s role with UKNetWeb will continue as a collaboration between the two companies, with Tonick focusing on the media and marketing side of social media and UKNetWeb the technical.

Speaking on his appointment, Aren Grimshaw said,

“These are exciting times for the media industry and I am really thrilled to be working with Tonick in developing both the digital magazine and their other service offerings.

He continued. “There are a great number of opportunities to put Cornwall on the map for innovative use of technology and media, I hope that by working in conjunction with companies such as UKNetWeb, Tonick can help drive this forward.”

For the past ten years Aren has worked in sales and marketing roles. In this time he has worked within Orange’s chain of stores throughout the south west, managed and run local marketing agencies and spent time as a freelance journalist covering stories in and around his home in Camborne.

His work with social media has seen him run a number of well attended courses for businesses, as well as events such as the Cornwall Twestival and the recently established Cornwall Social Media Cafe.
