CSA Architects have appointed a third director with the promotion of Nigel Atkins, of Falmouth, a senior architect who joined the Truro-based firm just over two years ago.

Atkins joins Justin Dodge (managing) and Jeremy Bradley on the board of the fast-expanding practice, which has raised its turnover and staff to record levels since re-launching two years ago.

“Nigel has emphatically demonstrated his worth with a very cutting-edge contemporary style and we are delighted to welcome him onto the board,” said Dodge.  “He has returned to his roots, being originally from Cornwall and after working in London for a number of years.”

After leaving Oxford Brookes University, Atkins worked with a number of eminent central London architectural practices over a period of 26 years. He gained a wealth of experience with a workload ranging from retail shopping centres to offices, residential and international airports.

With CSA, he has been involved in several notable projects, including the residential redevelopment of Copperhouse, Hayle, and more recently the ground-breaking Greenbank Hotel proposals in Falmouth, where he is also a near neighbour.

Atkins commented: “I am really pleased to join the management team and am optimistic that I can further strengthen the practice with my extensive experience. I have really enjoyed my time at CSA and am delighted to pledge my allegiance to the company with this promotion.”
