His arrival marks further expansion for the centre, which was formed four years ago and now has five independent financial advisers and a total staff of 12, its highest-ever levels.

Steve, a native of Falmouth, joined the Alliance and Leicester’s town branch as a cashier at the age of 18. He subsequently worked with Lloyds TSB as a financial advisor for three years before spending the last seven years providing financial advice with Alliance and Leicester, based in Falmouth and St Austell and helping clients all over Cornwall.

“Both from my career viewpoint and the current uncertainty caused by the credit crunch, I felt it was time for me to provide fully independent financial advice to best serve client needs,” says Steve.

“PFCC, along with parent company Hine Downing Solicitors, provides a strong local brand that is well respected by local people, and as a local boy myself I am well qualified to understand the particular needs of Cornwall’s residents.”

Steve’s experience will also benefit the Nationwide Building Society Agency – sharing the premises in Killigrew Street – which is operated by PFCC and controlled by Hine Downing.
