Businesses in Cornwall are being invited to invest in the county’s creative future.

The Power of 10 is a fundraising initiative launched to mark the tenth anniversary of contemporary art gallery, The Exchange in Penzance, and the redevelopment of Newlyn Art Gallery.

All subscriptions, sponsorships and donations will be doubled by the Arts Council’s Catalyst: Evolve initiative. There will also a gala dinner on Saturday November 11, where the business patrons scheme will be formally launched.

Gallery director, James Green, said: “We are delighted to take this opportunity to launch our new business patrons scheme to help drive the delivery of our year-end target of £100k in support of the galleries’ future development.

“Business Patrons help to bring prestigious exhibitions to Cornwall and support the county’s creative economy. If ten local businesses become patrons and each pledge £500 that is £10k when matched by Catalyst: Evolve to invest in the creation of dynamic new work in the region.

“Cultural patronage not only stimulates the creative vitality of the south west and delivers on corporate social responsibility but also offers benefits to the business sector. The Power of 10 is far greater than the sum of its parts. By collaborating with us, the county’s business community can make a powerful impact on Cornwall’s creative future.”

Tickets for the anniversary dinner, which include a champagne reception, live music and welcome from host, BBC Radio Cornwall’s Daphne Skinnard, are on sale now. For full details, click here.
