The excitement is building for the Cornwall Business Fair, which takes place on Wednesday (May 11) as part of Cornwall Business Week.

Over 100 businesses are preparing their stands for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce-organised event, which is again being hosted at the Eden Project.

The chamber’s chief executive, Kim Conchie, will be joined by LEP chairman, Mark Duddridge, to open the fair at the morning breakfast event which starts at 8am (booking essential).

The breakfast is sponsored by Newquay Cornwall Airport, and airport MD, Al Titterington, will also deliver a presentation, which will be followed by speed networking.

The exhibition runs from 10am to 4pm and is free to all; a delegate pass even gets you in to Eden’s other attractions for the day.

Delegates attending the Business Fair Lunch at 12pm will enjoy Eden sharing platters and a presentation on the upcoming EU Referendum from chair and founder of ComRes, Andrew Hawkins (booking essential).

In addition to the 112 stands which this year will spread across all three floors of the Core building, the exhibition space boasts plenty of networking areas, a Business Support Zone, Twitter wall and Ideas wall.

A free networking app is offered to all delegates to ensure they get the most possible from the event. The app offers attendees the chance to view Linkedin profiles of others present, set up meetings, instant message and more.

Conchie said: “We are very excited about this event and hope to top the figure of over 2,000 attendees that joined us last year at Eden.

“We have been inundated with calls from businesses as far away as Liverpool asking for hotel recommendations because they plan to come down to investigate potential business opportunity in the region.

“This is just what this event is all about – showcasing Cornwall’s vibrant business landscape.”

The day closes with a Pasty and Pint event courtesy of Warrens and St Austell Brewery, with a light-hearted look at the Cornish business from Kernow King. This event is free to those who have attended the exhibition, and there’s no need to book.
