The breakfast event, being held at the St Austell Business Park on July 8, will see CIPR President, Sarah Pinch, open the discussions with a presentation on how the organisation is addressing these issues.

Event organiser and CIPR Cornwall co-ordinator, Nigel Barker, said: “It never ceases to amaze me that, in the 21st century, complete parity in business doesn’t exist.

“The gender pay gap, which still stands at roughly 20% job for job, is just one example of how women are, in my opinion, unfairly treated.

“This event is aiming to open up this discussion and I am proud the CIPR nationally has taken this subject on and is pushing for change.”

Paula Martin, chief executive of the Cornwall Air Ambulance, and Sarah Trethowan, director of TRAC Services, will join Pinch on the panel for what is hoped will be a lively and focussed discussion.
