The event on June 3 has been organised by local law firm Stephens Scown LLP’s Young Marketing Group.

Kim Conchie, CEO of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, will speak to the group about the opportunities that new technology brings, allowing the brightest and best to stay in Cornwall to pursue their careers.

Kim Conchie, chief executive of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce said: “Brand Cornwall is going to be positioning the Duchy as an example of what a 21st Century economy should look like, making Cornwall famous again as a place to do business. It will be these young business people that will be putting it – whatever ‘it’ turns out to be – into action.”

The Young Marketing Group was set up by Stephens Scown several years ago as a way for its trainees and newly-qualified lawyers to meet and share ideas with other professionals at the start of their careers. The group includes surveyors, accountants and other young business professionals.

Polly Ridgway, a trainee solicitor at Stephens Scown in St Austell and the organiser of the event said: “This event looks set to be popular and it is great to have Kim involved, to share his ideas about how much potential there is in Cornwall. It will be great to hear the views of other young professionals on Cornwall’s future and the part we can all play in shaping it.”

The Young Marketing Group holds regular event throughout the year. If you would like to attend this event or be kept informed of future events, email cornwallevents@stephens-scown.co.uk.
