HFC Networks Club a big hit

The first HFC Networks Club event of 2014 attracted a record number of delegates from a range of businesses throughout Cornwall.

Despite November’s event having the pull of a performance from global phenomenon STOMP, the latest gathering attracted even more delegates, with a total of 61 local business people battling the Cornish elements to attend.

The event was themed around New Year and a healthy waistline. Delegates were treated to smoothie shots and fruit skewers, courtesy of Westcountry Fruit Sales and Cornish Food Market, as well as Virgin Marys and fresh juices.

New for 2014 was a Pairing Board where delegates could write their name and the name of the person they were trying to find. Organisers would then pair them up, or if the person was absent, pair them up by email after the event.

Special guest was Ann Vandermeulen, from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). She gave an insightful presentation about the various ways the organisation can help local businesses, and provided up-to-date information about what the organisation is doing to back the needs of businesses now.

Hall for Cornwall’s development assistant, Katie Hill, said: “Our first event for 2014 couldn’t have gone better. The support of our new sponsor Carlton-Smith Private Wealth has meant that these events can remain free to delegates for another year, so I am sure we will see numbers rising still throughout 2014, creating a fantastic networking experience every time.”

The next HFC Networks Club will be held on March 28. For more information email Katie Hill or call 01872 321992.
