Cornwall is to play host to an event that will be the first of its kind in the UK. ‘Raw Fest’ is to be held at Stithians Showground on Friday August 31st showcasing raw vegan food and a healthy lifestyle, with over 1000 people expected to visit each day.
Top international raw food experts, chefs, health and nutritional advisor’s, alongside local producers, will be exhibiting and presenting at the festival to highlight the benefits and enjoyment of raw vegan food, wild foods and herbs. The festival will also include yoga sessions, tai chi and dance workshops alongside live music and performance.
Leah Katia, from local company In Touch Body Awareness, is the founder of Raw Fest and explains why Cornwall is the perfect location for the first event of its kind in the UK:
 “The raw revolution is sweeping the globe, but the UK is only starting to see glimpses of this happening, so the idea for a raw food festival was born in Cornwall. Cornwall is a gorgeous location and boasts great fresh produce from local suppliers as well as wild food – especially seaweed! “
Huge in the US and Europe gourmet raw vegan food is a new concept which is only now starting to gain attention in the UK with Cornwall being the first county to hold a dedicated festival.
