Human resources guidelines will be on the menu for Cornwall Enterprising Women’s latest networking event this month.

The half-day workshop, taking place at Truro’s Library House on Wednesday, June 29, will be led by human resources expert Sue Hook, director of Hayle-based Sapience HR.

Hook will be addressing a number of employment law issues, from taking on new staff to discipline and grievance procedures.

The workshop is designed to assist businesswomen who currently employ or are looking to employ staff to help grow their business. Hook explained: “The process of employing and keeping good staff is such a Smorgasbord of instinct, processes, reasonableness and law that it can be quite daunting if you are unfamiliar with the proper procedures.

“The session will provide practical and pragmatic advice from taking on to letting go staff and everything in between, which can be implemented into any business, no matter what the size or industry.”

The half-day session is one of the many different courses held by Cornwall Enterprising Women, which helps female entrepreneurs in Cornwall gain access to expert skills, training, and networking opportunities, and will incorporate interactive techniques to help participants understand the importance of employment issues.

Registration is free for Enterprising Women members, £15 for non members.Visit the Cornwall Enterprising Women website to book your place. Alternatively call Josie Purcell on 01872 613011 for more information.
