Cornwall’s annual performance-boosting conference will bring together management and marketing experts to share their knowledge and experience with local businesses.

The event gives companies the opportunity to attend short practical sessions on project management, leadership, marketing and web design.

“We listen to employers in everything we do and have put together this event in response to demand and customer feedback,” said Tamsyn Harris, from Cornwall College Business (CCB). “The event ties in with our performance-boosting short courses, which are designed to be practical and accessible to those in employment.”

The free event will be held in Truro, at The Business Space, on Wednesday May 25 (1pm-4.30pm). Delegates will have the opportunity to attend two one-hour taster sessions, where they will hear how local organisations, including Carrick Housing and Community Energy Plus, have used training to grow their businesses.

“Some of our clients have kindly agreed to come along and share their experiences,” continued Harris. “They will explain how the courses have helped them save money, increase efficiency and develop new skills which they’ve put into practice within the workplace.”

The event is also a good opportunity to network with other business people. As well as case studies from individual businesses, the sessions will also include practical advice from Cornwall College Business trainers, including Michelle Lawrence and Louise Oldham from Unlocking Cornish Potential.

Delegates can also book individual appointments with a CCB advisor at the conference if they’d like to discuss the training needs of their organisation.

Places are strictly limited so interested delegates are being asked to book their places as soon as possible, by calling CCB on 0800 731 7594, or emailing enquiries@ccb.cornwall.ac.uk.
