Delegates at the 4ip workshop

Channel 4’s innovation wing 4ip was in Cornwall recently, presenting a workshop in collaboration with Digital Peninsula Network/Cornwall Media Focus (DPN/CMF).

4ip is currently looking for “bold, ambitious ideas for websites, apps and games that are edgy, risky, straight talking, proactive and above all fun”.

Gendall, Nixon, TIGERX .STUDIO and Buzz Interactive were among the Cornish companies that were invited to attend the event, which was held at Watergate Bay.

The workshop provided an overview of the types of projects that 4iP are interested in commissioning, including a brief for its food-focused project “Crowd/Sauce”.

Miranda Adams, networks coordinator at DPN said: “Since DPN took the digital network Cornwall Media Focus under its umbrella, I have been in regular correspondence with the operation manager at 4iP. I was very pleased when he said that they were able to work with us to run an event in Cornwall. The event was highly successful with more than 30 high growth companies from the south west taking part in the workshop and feedback from the companies attending has been very positive.”

4ip’s Jamie Arnold added: “DPN organised a great day and we could not have wished for better. I met some interesting companies and I hope we get some good ideas coming through off the back of the day.”
