Write move - Chris Osbaldeston and Clare Williams will be using their professional writing expertise to support this year's Fal River Festival.

One of Cornwall’s largest festivals will be getting extra marketing support after adding two new members to its team.

Clare Williams, who graduated from MA Professional Writing at University College Falmouth in 2009, and Chris Osbaldeston, a current student on the same course, will be using their skills to raise the profile of this year’s Fal River Festival.

The Festival, which celebrates life on and around the Fal, will run from Friday, May 28 through to Sunday, June 6 and feature over 150 events.

Williams and Osbaldeston, who will be using social networking, blogging and PR to raise awareness of the Festival, hope they can help attract more visitors than the 30,000 who took part last year.

Williams said: “We’ve certainly got a big target to meet, but I’m confident with out support that the Festival can surpass last year’s visitor numbers.

“I have lived in Cornwall all my life, and it’s great to be able to support a festival which celebrates local life, and shows what a diverse place Cornwall is.”

Festival director, Toby Budd, said: “It will be great to have the support of Clare and Chris.

“We achieved a huge amount last year, but we are constantly aiming to make each year bigger and better than the last.”
