UKNetWeb is holding a webinar on Monday (1pm) to introduce ideas for a new high tech business park in Cornwall.

The Fibre Park concept is for a business park that “redefines high quality business office space” and looks to achieve this by grouping businesses’ technology needs and requirements together.

Toby Parkins, MD at St Agnes-based web development company UKNetWeb, says that by driving development from a demand perspective first, it will help ensure that future buildings are designed and built to exceed expectations.

The project is still at an early stage, but, says Parkins, is receiving “very, very warm support” from the public and private sectors.

Parkins said: “With the introduction of ultra-fast broadband technologies, it’s essential to maximise the use of such connectivity in order to become more competitive.

“There is every reason for Cornwall to develop a world class business park facility. We have the people, the innovative approach, and businesses with drive to push out and over-deliver.

“We may be 3-5 hours from London by traditional infrastructure, but we’re only 16 milliseconds away if you connect using fibre, and if you compare environments then there is no contest.”

The webinar on Monday, October 29 (1pm) will introduce the concept, answer some questions, and invite interested businesses to join the demand discussion group.
