Groupon founder Mike Feathers will be among the speakers at the second annual Agile on the Beach conference, taking place this September.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the conference, which is being held at Tremough from September 6-7, will cover Software Craftsmanship, Teams and Business, and Lean Start up.

The conference will give delegates the opportunity to discover the latest thinking from technology companies and Agile professionals, which they can apply to their own organisations to achieve “business agility”.

Feathers will be one of 20 speakers at the event, as will be Rachael Gaunt, director at Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole Architects.

Since attending last year’s conference, Gaunt has become a clear advocate of the benefits an Agile methodology and will share her experiences on how she went from delegate to practitioner in just six months.

She said: “A techie friend encouraged me to attend Agile on the Beach in 2011. I had no idea what ‘Agile’ was or whether it would be relevant to running our 15-person strong architectural design practice. Attending the conference allowed us to explore our design methods and approach projects in new ways.

“Agile thinking has encouraged us to re-invigorate in every aspect of our projects and the way we run our business. It has made us stronger, leaner and greener.

“We have an improved focus on the needs of our customers and the support we give to our design and deliver teams. We are always looking for ways to improve what we do and believe that technical excellence and good design enhances agility.”
