Penzance-based website design and development specialist, altcom Limited, has been commissioned by the London Transport Museum to migrate its entire website to an open source content management system.

The London Transport Museum (LTM), based in Covent Garden, has had its website hosted as part of the Transport for London (TfL) web system for many years but it was felt that the requirements for the museum’s web presence had outgrown the facility and they needed to have direct control of their own web presence.

altcom’s director in charge of the project, John Cowles, said: “Being based in Cornwall we are able to make use of the excellent digital and communications infrastructure that exists here, making business on a global level possible.

“We are very pleased to be working with the London Transport Museum again to deliver a cutting edge CMS system for them. The London Transport Museum is an iconic attraction in its own right, appealing to UK and overseas visitors and the new web based systems will make the online experience event more interactive and interesting.”
