Schoolchildren from Newquay and Truro showed off their entrepreneurial skills at a launch event for forthcoming TV channel ‘Out of the Box’.

The new channel, being launched on YouTube, aims to encourage teenagers and young adults, also known as Generation-Z to think about becoming the innovators and entrepreneurs of tomorrow and has been set-up and funded by Cornwall Innovation through its Formation Zones.

Teams of schoolchildren worked together to create an entirely new brand of chocolate bar aimed at their peers. The whole day was filmed by Pixel Rain and will feature on the channel over the coming weeks.

Speaking at the launch event, Richard Snell, manager of the Formation Zone at Tremough Innovation Centre said:  “One thing that we have been bowled over by throughout the planning stage for this channel is just how many amazing ideas young people have.

“Something happens as we enter adult life that seems to inhibit that self belief and thought process. To be a truly successful entrepreneur you need to have the courage and belief that your ideas are valid and Generation Z have that in abundance.”
