Camellia Interiors in Newquay has recently experienced a surge in prominence across the UK, gaining the attention of the national press in the process.

The coastal design specialists received some high profile exposure this month when design director Elaine Skinner was selected for The Sunday Telegraph’s ‘My Space’ feature, which explores the work spaces of the UK’s leading artists, designers and musicians.

Skinner, who lives in Pentire, was pictured in her home study where she finds inspiration from a collection of favourite objects and design pieces, and impressive views of the north Cornwall coast.

She follows in the footsteps of interior designer Sophie Conran, DJ Jo Whiley, TV Presenter Kirsty Allsopp and artist Gavin Turk – all of whom have recently been featured.

She said: “I’m a strong believer in the strength of Cornish design and creativity so it was great to be selected for this feature; it highlights the fact that you don’t have to be at a desk in central London to be part of a great design practice.”
