Penryn-based graphic design studio Sames + Littlejohns has created the brand identity for a new mobile street food venture.

Unable to secure a commercial mortgage for a small cafe/restaurant in Penryn or Falmouth, chef Nick Archer was inspired to take The Shellfish Pig on the road after experiencing firsthand the recent cultural phenomenon of ‘street food trucks’ during a visit to the USA, which offer restaurant-quality food all served from the back of conventional fast food vans.

Guided by Archer’s vision for the brand, Sames + Littlejohns put itself to work with the aim to create a “bold, distinct and memorable identity”.

Design director, David Sames, said: “By creatively exploring the overall delivery of brand expression, and adopting a playful use of words and messaging, we’re very proud to have produced a robust solution that boasts a certain charm and wit, and which has the scope to evolve over time so to stay fresh and interesting.”

The Shellfish pig can be found weekdays serving breakfast from the Just Delights car park (Commercial Road, Penryn) and lunches from Cliff Road (Gylly Beach, Falmouth).
