Falmouth-based craftsman, Henry Swanzy, has begun 2014 with cause for celebration after iconic London-based contemporary furniture shop, Heal’s, placed an order to exclusively stock three of his designs.

Heal’s has a 200-year history of showcasing products from leading designers and brands, including Vitra, Ligne Rosset and Mathew Hilton, as well as a reputation for identifying up and coming talent.

Swanzy, who launched his company at Tent, part of London Design Week, last September, will have his designs included in the retailer’s spring/summer 2014 collection.

They will include the Pollyfox, a trestle table with hand shaped oak or ash legs; the “playful” Bareppa coffee table, which uses a bungee to hold three oak legs in place; and the Conker occasional table, inspired by the shape of a sweet chestnut.

He said: “It certainly is a promising start to 2014 and I am looking forward to our launch as part of the Heal’s spring/summer collection.”
