Fowey-based Design for Sport Ltd has been working with UKSport, the UK’s high performance sports agency, to create new products for use during the London Olympics.
Creative director Simon Heap said: “It’s been a pleasure working with the elite coaches and athletes and if we can contribute to their success through our design skills then we’ll feel we’ve done our job.
“At this level of competition every single component is analysed and assessed for suitability – it’s our job to constantly question those decisions and then find ways to improve them.”
Currently working with the triathlon and cycling team for the summer, Design for Sport is already looking forward to the winter Olympics in 2014 to be held in Sochi.
Heap added: “Although we are limited by confidentiality agreements we’re hoping that the developments we’re about to start will bring TeamGB great success in Russia.”
