A group of Europe’s leading wave energy scientists have turned to creatives in Penryn to help them communicate their message as they look to take the field of environmental renewable energy to new levels.

Scientists at Southampton University chose Penryn-based Eight Wire to rebrand the European Wave and Tidal Energy conference (Ewtec) and deliver a full conference management website, which is about to go live.

The event, which plays host to some of the biggest brains in wave energy technology in the world, takes place in Southampton in September 2011 and the fully automated website, built using open source software, facilitates everything from planning the conference to organising revisions of scientific papers.

Sara Pugh, Eight Wire director and head of graphic design, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the University of Southampton on this high profile project.

“Eight Wire has a growing portfolio of clients based within the marine sector, both locally and out of county, so we’re relishing the opportunity to expand our experience further and demonstrate what our team can do.”
