More than forty business leaders in Cornwall who are aiming to grow their turnover by at least 10% have spent a morning together to work out how they are going to achieve it.

The invitation-only event hosted by Unlocking Potential was held yesterday at the Pavilion Centre, Wadebridge and brought together a wide spectrum of successful Cornish businesses from health care, motorcycles and songwriting to film production, manufacturing and software development.

This workshop combined access to facilitators in business innovation with the opportunity to explore business goals in small groups of other leaders.

John Lake, co-director of Capio Limited – a coaching and organisational development company based in west Cornwall – said the workshop reinforced his company’s own processes.

He said: “The event demonstrated the power of discussion, effective communication and collaboration. I’m a big believer in the interdependency of businesses and I feel very strongly that that was created today by Unlocking Potential.”

Many of the businesses at the event will now form numerous ‘Learning Groups’ to tackle their different challenges and goals.

Executive director of Unlocking Potential, Mark Smith, added: “Learning Groups are certainly a great way of delivering business support for Cornwall. We’re keen to make sure no business leader misses out on the fantastic opportunity our groups present to stimulate ideas to solve crucial growth issues.”
