Former Convergence Partnership Office director Carleen Kelemen has been appointed as the new chair of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Devon and Cornwall.

Kelemen, who has been vice chair for the past three years, replaces outgoing chairman Richard Ayre.

She commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed chair of my IoD branch. These are challenging but still very exciting times.

“The IoD has a diverse and vibrant community of members representing all types of businesses from micro to international corporations, quoted companies to social enterprises alongside leaders from the public and third sectors.

“It is this collective pool of knowledge and ability which can make a valuable contribution to our economic growth to help businesses, the region and the UK succeed.”

  1. I let my IoD membership lapse because I did not think it was good value for money compared to other professional memberships. Trying to arrange a special evening for the SW group at our new ops base was like pulling teeth. Carleen will be like a breath of fresh air – I might even renew now!
