Export Cornwall has announced further details of the presentations and workshops taking place at Cornwall’s first export fair, at Kingsley Village next week (Thursday, March 22).

Country specialists from Canada, China, France, Ireland, Russia, USA, and the Baltic states will be presenting the business opportunities in their countries, and will be exhibiting along with over 20 other export specialists who can help Cornish businesses discover how to grow their business through overseas trade.

The full programme of the day is now available online, as well as the opportunity to pre-register and book one-to-ones.

Nigel Halladay, director of Calidus Engineering in Redruth, said: “I would urge Cornish businesses of all kinds and sizes to find out about the help available to export.

“For example, we recently took part in a trade mission to San Diego to attend a global expo for our industry. The contacts I made at the show have led to a new consultancy contract and are likely to lead to a multi million pound contract next year.

“We also got other leads in the States, New Zealand and Australia as a result of the Expo. We are already at £35k and counting for work done since we went on the trade mission.”

The export fair is being staged by Export Cornwall, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Convergence programme and run by UK Trade & Investment.

There will be a series of 30 minute workshops providing practical knowledge and ‘how-to’ for international trading, including customs, taxation, intellectual property, export pricing and more, and businesses are welcome to drop in.
