A major development to increase grain storage facilities at Kernow Grain, near Bodmin, is complete and four new silos, each with 1,000 tonnes capacity, are now operational.

Kernow Grain began work to install the new grain silos in April, after receiving a grant of almost £380k from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).

The additional four silos have increased the storage facility by 30% and the grain drying capacity doubled to 80 tonnes per hour throughput.

Jeremy Oatey, Chairman, of Kernow Grain Ltd said: “We are extremely proud of the high standard of work that has been carried out by the contractors working on site this year. The four new silos give Kernow Grain, and more importantly our members, even better storage and processing facilities.”
