The South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) has appointed a new head of regeneration in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Alice Ordidge, who is based at SWRDA’s Truro office, has ten years’ experience in private sector property consultancies including GVA Grimley in Birmingham and Savills in Bath and Bristol. She replaces Dr Sandra Rothwell who has taken up the post of head of economic development at Cornwall Council.

She joined the RDA six years ago as a planning manager covering Devon and Cornwall and most recently was head of planning and transport, engaged in national policy work on Eco Towns.

Theo Leijser, the RDA’s director in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, said: “Alice has extensive experience in commercial planning and development work and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Cornwall maximises the opportunities presented by Convergence funding and major developments like the Eco Town. She’s a huge asset to the team and we’re delighted to have her on board.”
