Kevin Williamson

Cornwall Business Partnership (CBP) has been strengthened by the appointment of Kevin Williamson as Convergence project officer-business support.

Funded by ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Convergence investment, the appointment will further boost the CBP’s role as the portal to the public sector for all the main private sector organisations, including the Federation of Small Businesses, the Institute of Directors, Chambers of Commerce, and representatives from the marine, construction and food sectors.

Williamson said: “I am keen to work with the private sector through the CBP to maximise the opportunity for businesses through Convergence investment. I believe that it is important for the Convergence programmes to leave a lasting legacy which businesses can utilise for the long term future of the economy and people of Cornwall.

“Although based at County Hall, Truro, I am eager to be out and amongst the businesses driving Cornwall forward and would welcome the opportunity to get the views of the private sector first hand.”

CBP chairman Thelma Sorensen said: “Cornwall Business Partnership has been closely born out of the Objective One and now is at the heart of the Convergence programmes. By working with Kevin we hope to consolidate the voices of businesses in Cornwall in order to provide a cohesive influence in economic regeneration.”
