A host of Cornwall’s most enterprising women are set to gather in early next month at the Fowey Hall Hotel to hear some of the region’s leading entrepreneurs and business leaders talk about the factors that have inspired them to their success.

Organised by Business Link under the Convergence programme in partnership with the Business Support Network, Step this Way, Network Cornwall and Truro and Penwith College Business Centre, the free ‘Together… supporting Cornwall’s enterprising women’ event takes place on Thursday July 2, starting at 9.45am.

According to Business Link’s Yvette Coles, who is one of the speakers, commented: “Rural women are twice as likely to own a business as urban women.  The South West, in fact, has the UK’s highest proportion of women setting out in business (4.6% of the workforce, against 3.6% in the UK as a whole).

“What’s more, 21% of new businesses are led by women, as opposed to 14% of established businesses – this suggests that more women than ever are now launching their own enterprises.  With this event, we want to make sure that as many as possible, whether they’re thinking about, launching, running or growing a business, are aware of the wide-ranging support available to them through Business Link and our partners.”

Spaces at the event are limited, and anyone wishing to attend should call Business Link on 0845 600 9966 or email their details to enquiries@blpeninsula.co.uk.
