South West businesses and organisations interested in learning more about the support and funding that is currently available for international research and development projects are invited to a free breakfast seminar in Plymouth next month.

The event, which is being held at the Future Inn on Thursday June 25, will enable local companies and research institutions to learn how to access European R&D funding, obtain EU grants and apply for R&D tax credits.

The seminar is being organised by Enterprise Europe Network South West in co-operation with tax experts, Smith & Williamson, who will kick-start the meeting with a presentation about government support and grant aid for R&D projects in the UK, Europe and other overseas markets.

Smith & Williamson will also explain how to apply for company tax credits which can be used to claw back up to 24% of R&D investment.  A representative from the South West of England Regional Development Agency will then provide expert advice on how to apply for a range of R&D grants.

This will be followed by a presentation about accessing European R&D Funding via the UK National Contact Point for Framework Programme 7 (FP7) and, finally, Corinne Edwards  from Coventry University Enterprises Ltd will explain how to find the right R&D partner and how to use the UKTI-backed ‘Soft Landing Zone’ business support scheme.
