Classic Cottages hosted a big breakfast fundraiser last week, in aid of the Cornwall branch of Dementia UK.

The event was held in the kitchen at Classic Cottage’s head office in Helston and raised £460.

The charity, which raises money to pay for Admiral Nurses in Cornwall, helps families and carers to deal with this debilitating condition.

“Dementia UK Cornwall is a charity close to our hearts,” said booking office assistant and event organiser, Liz Webb.

60 rashers of bacon, 60 sausages, 60 hash browns and a large case of mushrooms, all of which were donated by Sainsbury’s, were cooked up by Tanya Pascoe and Bryony Stevenson who were slaving away in the kitchen to make the event a success. The eggs were donated by Pengoon Farm and additional items were purchased using a voucher donated by Tesco.

Guests also enjoyed locally-sourced Colin Retallack’s hogs pudding.
