A three-day charity bike ride is being organised to help raise funds for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Ride OnRideOn(Hi-Res) will start in Bude on Saturday May 27, finishing at Lands End on Monday May 29, with overnight camping stops en-route.

Tom Matthews, organiser and fundraising events officer for the charity said: “The emphasis is definitely on the fun with this event which is why we would love to see work colleagues entering as a kind of team building exercise.

“It’s a ride, not a race, we must stress that, but we promise it will take in some of Cornwall’s beautiful scenery and heritage that you don’t get to see from the A30.”

The charity is looking for around 100 cyclists to join them over the Bank Holiday weekend with a special ‘Pirate’ themed final day.

“There may even be a few ‘special guests’ joining us over the weekend to add to the laughter, but I really can’t say any more that that at this time.” teased Matthews.

Billed as a ‘Proper Cornish Bike Ride’, Ride On will meander through quiet lanes and cycle routes stopping over night at campsites along the way with Cornish cream teas, pasties and Sharp’s Doom Bar for those that fancy an evening tipple.

  1. I’m doing this with a friend – can’t wait! I’ve wanted to do something like this for ages (not brave enough to do Land’s End – John O’Groats yet!) and it’s great to be able to do it with loads of other people and raise money for the air ambulance!
