Three Cornish producers have been recognised at the tenth annual British Pie Awards.

Rowe’s Cornish Bakers received a brace of accolades. Its Penang Chicken Pasty won Class Champion in the Pasty Class, while its Penang Veg Pasty was Highly Commended.

Proper Cornish, which won the Cornish Pasty Company category at the previous week’s World Pasty Championships, was Highly Commended in the Pub Pie Class for its delicious-sounding Steak & Stilton Fondue Pie with Beef Dripping Gravy.

Ginsters, meanwhile, was also awarded Bronze for its two new products within the Pasty Class: Moroccan Vegetable Pasty & Caramalised Onion & Cornish Cheddar Pasty.

Matthew O’Callaghan, chairman of the British Pie Awards, commented: “We’re thrilled to be celebrating the tenth annual awards and can safely say it was our best yet! We’ve seen, and eaten, some incredible pies from some very talented producers. The competition was fierce, and these producers should be very proud of their wins. Congratulations!”
