Barefoot Media in St Wenn and Truro-based MPAD are both up for Outstanding Small Consultancy.

The two agencies are also up against Firegrass Communications, based at Pool Innovation Centre, in the Integrated Campaign category.

Barefoot Media is up for four categories in total, including Low Budget Campaign and Best Use of Media Relations.

MPAD is also shortlisted in the Issues and Crisis Management Campaign.

Director Rachel Picken MCIPR said: “There was a time when very few agencies and organisations were represented at the South West CIPR PRide awards.

“Now Cornwall regularly appears on the shortlist so hopefully we will be bringing a clutch of awards back to the Duchy. We’re proud to be up against fellow Cornish talent at Barefoot and Firegrass Communications in our categories.”

Truro and London-based Wildcard is in the running for Best Use of Photography or Design, while Cornwall Council is also up for Internal Communications Campaign.

Two practitioners are up for individual awards – Shelley Fletcher-Bryant of Firegrass Communications is in line for Outstanding Freelance Practitioner, while Laura Hicks, recently promoted to account director at Wild Card in Truro, has been shortlisted for Outstanding Young Communicator.

Fletcher-Bryant said: “It is an honour to be recognised by the Chartered Institute and to be shortlisted for two PRide awards.  The shortlist boasts some fantastic talent from across the south west region and I am very proud to be in such great company.”

The winners of the South West 2013 CIPR PRide Awards will be announced on the 22nd November 2013 at a ceremony in Bristol.
