The team behind one of Cornwall’s leading tourism marketing initiatives are urging people to vote for them after being shortlisted in a national awards scheme.

Fal River Cornwall has been shortlisted in three categories for the prestigious British Travel Awards.

The team will be up against organisations from across the country in the Best UK Waterways Boat Operator, Best UK Coastal Town and Best UK Visitor Guide website for www.falriver.co.uk.

Fal River Cornwall marketing manager, Toby Budd, said:

“Making the shortlist itself is a fantastic achievement but now we need the help of locals and visitors, as well as their votes. The voting process takes less than two minutes and every vote counts. We’re delighted to have made the shortlist for all of these awards and it’s a great testament to the hard work of the Fal River Cornwall team, from the ferrymen to our marketing team.”

As well as promoting the Fal River area as a holiday destination the team also manage and operate the King Harry, St Mawes and Place ferries, the Park and Ride and Float in Falmouth, created the Fal Mussel Card, and run the Fal River Visitor Information Centre on the Prince of Wales Pier after saving it from closure.

The organsation, which is headed up by Tim Light, also organise the annual Fal River Festival, which attracts around 100,000 people every year, and the Fal River Autumn Walking Festival.
