Entries have now opened for the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2012.

The awards, which are open to all tourism related businesses across the county, are hosted by VisitCornwall and have become a recognised barometer for quality.

The 16 categories up for grabs touch all sectors of the industry covering everything from Large Visitor Attraction of the Year to Outstanding Customer Service Award.

St Austell Brewery is the main sponsor of this year’s tourism awards and MD James Staughton said: “Cornwall’s hospitality and tourism sector are vital to our region’s economy.

“The Cornwall Tourism Awards help celebrate excellence and help encourage all of us to keep raising the bar in the service standards and experience we provide to visitors. The awards are valuable to the county and we are delighted to support them.”

The awards will culminate with a ceremony in November when the gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced. Those businesses will then go on to represent the county in the regional South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2012/13 and potentially the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in 2013.

The closing date for entries is June 21. For more information and to download an application form, click here.
