Cornwall’s smartest young entrepreneurs, green conscience companies and brightest new businesses were recognised at the Hub Awards last night at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay.
Dan Parker, director at SMS marketing company FireText, scooped the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, while Becky Palmer was named Employee of the Year, in recognition for her work at Sapience HR.
This year’s Green Business of the Year was handed to Redruth-based IT company Piran Technologies, while the Best Business Start-up gong went to Tony Sampson and his company Cornwall Solar Panels.
A special Hub Contributor of the Year award was bestowed upon Anna Penrose from MailAway.
More than 110 guests attended the awards, which were sponsored by YTKO, Oxford Innovation and Tremough Innovation Centre.
Jill Stein delivered the keynote speech, sharing her experiences of running the hugely successful Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, during what was one of her first public speaking appointments.
