A Hayle manufacturer has been recognised for its achievements in the first-ever EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
Naturepaint, which uses natural and sustainable ingredients to produce safe and environmentally friendly interior wall paint, was commended in the EEF Business Climate Change Opportunity category at a regional ceremony in Bristol.
The Cornwall company was acknowledged for its enterprise in developing a sustainable alternative to petrochemical based emulsion paints, which contribute to atmospheric pollution and waste.
“Naturepaint is unique in having been recognised by a number of national bodies as a safe eco-friendly paint,” said founder, Ross Harling. “We are currently exploring export opportunities in a number of countries – and working on a number of new products.”
Terry Slater, EEF south west region director, commented: “Companies such as Naturepaint prove that manufacturers in the south west are among the most innovative in the UK in exploiting low carbon technologies and mitigating their impact on the environment. They are a credit to industry and to the region.”
