Hub extends awards deadline

The deadline for entering this year’s Hub Awards has been extended to Friday October 23.

Sponsored by Business Link, Cornwall Development Company and Unlocking Cornish Potential, the much-awaited awards, which will take place on Thursday November 26 at the Atlantic Hotel, Newquay, recognise innovation and employment, but also the contribution made to The Hub.

You can nominate someone, or enter yourself in the following categories: Employee of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Best Business Start up and Entrepreneur of the Year. The Hub committee will also reward the Hub member they think has been invaluable to the Hub’s growth and success and will hand out an award for Hub Contributor of the Year.

With the exception of the Employee of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year, which are open to anyone under the age of 30, the remaining categories are open to people of all ages working in a Cornish business.

Now in its fifth year, this year’s Hub awards will once again celebrate the individual efforts of those young entrepreneurs and employees making a real difference to a Cornish business.

Tickets are now on sale for the awards ceremony priced at £25 each. The ticket price includes a drink on arrival and a three-course meal and guests can expect to see a great showcase of outstanding individuals and companies from the region.

Hub committee member, Chris Rowe of Worldwide Financial Planning, said: “We’ve extended the deadline to give even more people in the Cornish business community the opportunity to enter the Hub Awards. Shortlisted candidates will be notified shortly after the deadline on October 23 and will be invited for an interview before the final winners get announced at the awards ceremony in November.”

The Hub is a not for profit organisation sponsored by a number of public and private sector businesses. The events are planned and managed by a committee of volunteers, who give up their time to produce a varied plan of events.
