A PR practitioner from Cornwall has been named among the top 29 young PR professionals in the UK by industry publication, PR Week.
Shelley Fletcher, account manager at Deborah Clark Associates PR (DCA), based in Bodmin, has been named in PR Week’s annual search for the 29 most promising young professionals in the UK’s PR industry.
The 29 PR professionals, all under the age of 29, were nominated for the accolade by professional peers and then selected by an independent panel of judges.
Fletcher commented: “It’s a huge honour to be named as one of the top 29 PR professionals in the UK. I know there are a lot of extremely talented PR’s working in the industry so I am delighted to be featured as one of the top 29.
“I think it’s so important to promote the wealth of talent we have here in the South West and I am very proud to be representing the region in this way. I hope that I can inspire budding PR’s to push themselves to achieve their full potential and showcase the great range of skills we have on offer.”
Last year Fletcher was named Young Communicator of the Year for the West of England region at the Chartered Institute of PR’s annual award ceremony and also won silver at the Cornwall Business Awards for Young Business Person of the Year. It also comes as DCA is shortlisted for five awards in the CIPR Pride Awards, due to be announced on November 4.

Fletcher manages a range of consumer clients in the travel, tourism, marine, food & drink, care and retail sectors.
