Cornwall represented at national awards

Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) was shortlisted at the National Graduate Recruiters Awards this week.

UCP was shortlisted for an award by AGCAS, the professional association for higher education careers practitioners, for Outstanding Contribution to Developing Employability and Skills, alongside big names such as AXA, BT, Metropolitan Police and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

UCP lost out to PriceWaterHouseCoopers on the night, but was pleased to be recognised among such top names. Allyson Glover, head of graduate placements, said: “It was great to see the UCP name up in lights, as a team we are committed to playing a dedicated role in developing employability and skills within the careers service. We help to bridge the gap between employers and graduates and share our knowledge and skills with students. It’s great that UCF felt that we should be nominated for this award and we are pleased to have reached the shortlist.”

UCP is he Combined Universities in Cornwall’s graduate placement scheme, which helps to create graduate level jobs in the county and support growing Cornish businesses.
