A travel agent from Looe has been promoted to branch manager after reaching the finals of a nationwide industry award.
Debi Phillips received her promotion after being a finalist in travel company Kuoni’s Worldwide Travel Consultant of the Year.
Phillips, who is based at Newells Travel’s Looe branch on West Quay, was one of 33 high scoring candidates studying for a diploma in long haul travel.
And Newells has recognised her hard work and made her manager of the Looe branch.
Roger Hawke, managing partner of Newells, said: “This is a natural progression for Debi. She’s been working with us for eight years and shown real commitment to our company.
“She is the ideal person to take the reins of our Looe branch. Completing the Kuoni diploma is yet another string to her bow of skills and means we can offer our customers even more expertise.”
