One of Cornwall’s oldest firms of chartered accountants is planning for its future after making two new appointments.

Lang Bennetts, which has offices in Truro and Falmouth, has promoted Helen Hood to partner and added tax specialist, Simon Prior, to its team.

The move will allow the firm, which celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2015, to plan for future growth and expansion as one of the largest Cornwall-based accountants.

Lang Bennetts’ partner, Ian Moores, said: “We are thrilled that Helen has become a partner, she has been a valuable member of the team and really helped drive our growth, as well as support our commitment to customers.

“The firm has been going for over 80 years and we have done a great deal of work over the last few years to really think about the future.

“Helen’s promotion to join Colin Truscott, Jonathan Mashen and myself, is another step in ensuring Lang Bennetts is around for at least another 80 years.”

Commenting on Prior’s appointment, Hood added: “Simon is a great addition to the team. He is very dedicated and will offer clients more in-depth knowledge due to his experience of complex situations.

“This will enable us to be more proactive with tax planning to help businesses and individuals to achieve greater success.”
