With his latest role as deputy headmaster of Stonyhurst College in Lancashire, he also taught at Radley College, Abingdon and is enthusiastic about Truro School and relocating to the Duchy.

He said: “To have the chance to live and work in the heart of Cornwall is a dream come true. I accepted the offer to be the next headmaster of Truro School a little over a year ago, so I have been keen to get started.”

An accomplished sportsman, Gordon-Brown rowed for South Africa in the 1992 Olympics and for Oxford in the 1994 Boat Race.
