Truro-based marketing agency MPAD has added to its experienced media team by appointing Nigel Barker as PR account manager.
Barker joins the team from a background in commercial radio, having worked as a presenter at Atlantic FM prior to its sale to Heart South West.
He also has significant experience in the IT industry, having worked in systems architecture, and just before joining MPAD, worked with Redruth-based Piran Technologies as new business development manager.
Barker will handle a number of MPAD’s key PR accounts and projects, covering the voluntary sector, renewable energies, professional services and tourism.
MPAD managing director, Mark Picken, said: “Nigel has some really relevant experience that will fit in perfectly with our business. He trained as a broadcast journalist and worked as a radio presenter so he really understands the news agenda and the media landscape in the south west.
“But just as important, he has great commercial awareness, experience in project management and an interest in innovation, sustainability and business development, which makes this such a great appointment with us.”
