South West legal firm Stephens Scown is celebrating a boost for its growing Family Team following the qualification of one of their paralegals as a Legal Executive.

Twenty-four year old Chris Morse originally from Penzance (pictured), who joined the company at the beginning of 2008, has completed his training and is now fully qualified.

Before starting work at Stephens Scown in Exeter, Chris had three years of family law experience with his previous firm in Cornwall, Vivian, Thomas and Jervis. Chris’ work centres on disputes relating to children as well as other areas of law including cases of separation and injunctions.

His role bolsters the fast growing and highly successful Family Law Team at the firm. Stephens Scown, which has offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell, has a reputation for excellence being ranked in the top tiers for legal services in the South West in both the Chambers and Legal 500 guides to the legal profession.

Liz Allen, who heads up the Team, comments: “I would personally like to congratulate Chris on achieving his full legal executive status. We have seen a real growth in family law work dealing with a wide range of issues including divorce, separation and child care recently and Chris has made a real contribution to this. We’re delighted to have supported a young professional with his roots firmly in the region.”

Chris adds: “I’m very pleased to have gained my full legal executive status whilst working with Stephens Scown – it has been hard work, but very worthwhile and I look forward to the challenges which lie ahead.”

In his spare time Chris, who is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, enjoys running, cycling, listening to good music and reading.

Stephens Scown’s Family Team provides advice on a wide range of family law including matrimonial and partner issues including separation, divorce and civil partnerships, family finance and child access. For more information visit www.stephens-scown.co.uk
