Newlyn-based consultancy – Perfect Moment – has won a major contract to create a vision for the future of Ilfracombe’s seafront in North Devon.

The contract awarded last week by Ilfracombe’s Seafront Regeneration team, will see Perfect Moment undertake a feasibility study to look at options available for Ilfracombe and create a strategy for the future of the town’s seafront.

On hearing the news about securing the work, Kevin Brownridge, senior partner at Perfect Moment, said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the bold programme for the regeneration of Ilfracombe.

“As a consultancy based in a seaside area we have unique insight into the issues facing Ilfracombe.

“Many towns around the UK coastline have sought to re-invent themselves to move from declining traditional seaside resorts to culturally interesting destinations based around thriving communities.”

The contract will see Perfect Moment work with international design company Gillespies, Cornish architects Workhouse Design, Cornish museum consultant Emmie Kell and economic impact specialists Roger Tym and Partners.

Brownridge explained: “We have put together a team which aspires to the highest creative standards with every member being an expert in the area in which they are delivering.”

Perfect Moment, based in Newlyn and with offices in London, won the tender in an open competition that included several national firms. It is hoped that the strategy will help unlock a further £1 million of government cash from the Seachange scheme which aims to regenerate seaside towns.
