One of Cornwall’s largest private employers is looking for new talent as it celebrates a year of record-breaking growth.

St Austell Brewery has teamed up with Truro and Penwith College Business to help it find over 30 new Apprentices to work in a variety of pub and restaurant locations throughout Cornwall.

The vacancies, due to start in February 2016, cover professional cookery and front of house positions with an initial formal training period of 12 months. The roles are the ideal platform for youngsters or those returning to work to start a new career in the hospitality industry.

The new apprenticeships are part of a continuing and growing partnership between Truro and Penwith College and St Austell Brewery, which recently announced food revenue at its 25 managed pubs has topped £15million this year.

Over 40 apprentices have already started work across the brewery’s property portfolio thanks to the partnership assisted by high-quality, relevant training.

People director for St Austell Brewery, Jackie Scarfe, said: “Bringing in local new talent to our business is key to our continued growth and success and we are confident that many of our apprentices will, in the future, go on to become our top chefs and Managers.”
